We already did our huge swoop of the apt. getting rid of what we don't want/need. Now we are on round 2 of sweeping through and really evaluation what we want in our lives.
Today, I took EVERYTHING out of the bathroom. I laid it all out on my bed and put things back, one by one only if I wanted to keep it.
Here are the before, during and after pictures. I was going to clean it before I snapped the before pics, but then I thought I'd just keep it real. So, don't judge me too harshly for my dirty bathroom!
Here's most of what I ditched.
I opted not to put the shower curtain and the curtain that was in front of the shelf back in for now. They are purely decorative and I'm not sure if I LOVE them enough to put them back. I'm holding onto them for now, in case I change my mind later. Is that bad? The curtain that was in front of the shelf just seemed to be in the way, anyway. It was always falling into the diaper pail (eww) and it was just a pain to move it every time I wanted to get something.
Overall, I feel like I should have gotten rid of more. We really use everything that I put back on a daily/weekly basis. But do we need to? I think it just seemed like a lot b/c I have cloth diapers AND disposables on hand. Eight towels seems like a lot, but we have five people in our family and frequent over night guests. Maybe I'm just trying to make myself feel better about keeping so much . . .
Anyway, what's your opinion on the shower curtain? Should we put it back or let it go?
ooh I think you did a good job! there is quite a bit more space now! And i kinda liked the curtain personally ;) But at the same time now that there is so much less in your cabinet- maybe you don't need it!
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but I just found this blog - subscribing! I like the shower curtain - did you end up putting it back up or ditching it?
